Guides / Price and get paid
A simple contract before you start
Scope, price, deadlines and payment terms, in writing.
A short written agreement prevents most freelance disputes. It doesn't need to be long, but it does need to be clear.
What to include
- What you'll deliver, and what's not included
- Price and payment schedule (for example a deposit up front)
- Deadlines and how changes are handled
- Number of revisions
- Who owns the work, and when
- Late payment terms
- How either side can end the agreement
